Satisfying my bay curiosity

Post by fig »

Most of you know that my ACVW focus is split buses, but I crossed over into bay territory a couple of years ago with Skilpad, our 69 Westfalia. I had absolutely no intention of buying Skilpad when it was offered to us by a friend, but mrsfig insisted we buy it and who am I to argue when my wife wants me to buy another bus! :D

In any case, Skilpad was not for my collection; we bought her to leave in Cape Town so we would always have transport and a place to stay there. 8) Unfortunately the Cape winters were wrecking Skilpad so we brought her home to the dryveld.

But it didn't end with Skilpad! Over the past two months I have bought, not one, but TWO more baywindow buses! :hangloose:

Here's a low mileage 71 single cab I bought from Bratjie (Thanks Bratjie!):

Then last week I picked up this 74 Autovilla (also on mrsfig's instruction!):

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.
