Very Cool Junior
You must very pleased now that you can move forward :hangloose:

PS now you can't call it scrappy the beetle
It's not how fast you get there it's how you look when you arrive.

Thanks all :hangloose: It is going to get renamed when I finish the project. I did some work yesterday and found out that the car has gone from white to blue to pink to purple to silver to yellow in its life  So there is lots of paint to get cleaned off. The other thing is the person who painted it last was really good with fiberglass (he only used it to block holes) :hangloose: but the better news is he was even better with a welder!!! the only rust on the whole car is in the front heater channels and some surface rust around the windows. Unfortunately he welded the door pillars in a way that you cant remove the doors which sucks but he did a really good job. The body had a 1970s wiring harness in but it had been cut to pieces and was not worth saving so its going to become spare beetle wire. The dash has also had holes drilled in so I'm going to have to send a day fixing all that and the other random holes they have cut in the car. Other than that I am really happy with my buy :hangloose: :hangloose: :hangloose: :hangloose: :drunks:

Okay I have been doing things a bit slowly but I have been doing every thing properly! :hangloose: I have removed the 1600 gear box off the pan and removed the axles and disk brakes and done the same to the 1200 gear box then I cleaned every thing and put the 1600 axles on the 1200 gearbox and later added the disk brakes. I am now working on the pan and doing some body work. I have even started re-doing the steering wheel.

Here are some pics as always

Okay Jobs left to do on pan are:

Add gearbox oil
put on new axle boots (when they arrive)
Put in new throttle cable (when it arrives)
Bead the brakes
Weld in new seat rails (WHEN I FIND SOME!!!)

Other than that there is not to much left to do on the pan I am going to be waiting for parts for the next few months so I will see how far I can get with the body work so long. Here are some pics of the pan.

I got some more work done today. I cleaned of most of the old rubberizing and glue in the inside. :hangloose: I also started replacing some rust in the front of the car. I am going to see if I can do below the door hinge tomorrow but will be away for the week end so wont get much done. Thanks for all the support. Keep it coming!!! :hangloose: :hangloose:

Please tell me if some thing is wrong as this is my first time doing this and I have never been told what the right way is. One other thing to bear in mind is I had to do that with a old oil cooled arch welder
