Lovely buggy! Just please lose the trumpets! :zhelp: It's spoiling the look of the car for me.
The only substitute for cubic inches are more cubic inches.

ha ha, sorry boet but you cant make everyone happy :)

...ive always wanted a buggy with trumpets.. for me its suits the buggies, for look and sound. 4 into ones are awesome for performance i know.. but this buggy has more than enough pull... and im all over the Harley davidson rumble :)

well quite a week.

Sold my beach bug so that i could Spur of the moment buy my old Orange Karmann ghia back ( the one in my sig photo below :) )

kinda ... body of the Karmann was totally wrecked in my crash. But the guy that bought the wreck of my insurance vowed to build a Sick Orange Street Beach buggy .. sweet story :) then he whent balls to the wall making a Awesome buggy, no expense spared kinda deal... shortly afterwards cash issues meant the buggy garage door was closed untill further notice.. and ultimitly forgotten about. Now 6 years later the garage door was opened to me :).. he accepted my offer and i now have it all back.. to finish it or whatever.. right now its whatever as my budget is lets say.. nil after purchasing it all back.

So now im plotting where to go with this. keep the turbo motor and build a little monstor Street bug which will take a fair amount of time or sell the turbo motor and just finish off whats lef tof the buggy build ( will be an epicly neat buggy either way... see the pics below ) .... my only issue is ive sold my only driveable car ( the silver bug ).. so whatever i do it must happen asap.

Should i ...
1. Sell the new orange buggy as is, because it'll never fill the shoes of the ghia. So i can cut my losses and finally buy a normal everyday car.
2. build a street buggy of awesomeness... and eat canned food for months. ( done it before )
3. sell the Turbo motor to aid in financing the rest of the build, and just get a normal bug motor.

Bare in mind.. this bug has all my old Karmann Ghia bits.... Cookie cutters, Big vented disk brakes, suspension braces, gearbox braces, upgraded engine brace, gearbox gears were strengthened ( 3rd 4th welded ), 1.9 wasser turbo ( built by P.Chadwick ), Bilsteins.. and and...

Interesting conundrum you have here.

Personally I would sell the motor (if you can get enough for it), fix the bug and off you go with a driveable car, then save and build/buy a nice big performance motor when the time is right again. Quickest way you get back off your feet and not have to sell the buggy.

That all depends on how much you want to keep the buggy of course....
Best of luck deciding!

:)

i think either selling the Turbo motor or keeping it for a rainy day is the best option right now as i dont have time or budget to run water lines and find gaps to squeeze the radiator / intercoolers into .. i need to just get the bug rolling, so im looking for a normal complete beetle motor for now. Im battling to find any buggie shops online.. anyone know of any besides FFR, Beamish and Volkspares?

other parts i need urgently... ( preferably new parts )

Bucket seats, black or grey vynil with seatbelt holes in the headrests
Beetle motor - complete

Thanks for your help guys.. i really need it tbh.

I would sell the turbo and keep the engine packed away somewhere. The turbo should fetch you a couple of grand at least. You can always buy a similar spec turbo later again when funds allow

I couldnt spin the turbo as hard as i tried (with the tips of my fingers) :( .. im worried the turbo will be a write off.. in the very least it'll need a proper service / rebuild.
