hey all, just sorting out my beetle before it goes out on friday and i have come across a problem.
with reference to the lights.
when the lights are on, you pull back the indicator stalk to make the high beams go on right?
now, the high beams don't stay on. you basically have to hold it back.
is it the switch?

A relay is a mechanical device that often fails when you don't expect it - the spring gets worn, or the terminals get dirty or burn. If you do not hear a 'click' sound when you pull the lever, it is probably history. It simply unplugs from the fuse box, but check the fuses as well. If you carefully open the relay, you might even be able to save it,

okay, it wasn't the relay.
what the problem was just a faulty light switch (4th one i have bought since getting roadworthied) and some faulty wiring.
but a new switch is in, the wiring for that is repaired and it all works.
