Re: Scrappy the beetle
Lol thanks. It's hard to believe that just a few months ago I was asking things like how to set the timing now I have rebuilt a whole motor and on my way to restoring a 64 beetle I can't wait

Re: Scrappy the beetle
Thanks I sanded my ass off again today.
I also welded up the big whole on the right in the rear apron and welded a latch on for the deck lid and test fitted it and it works.
Before.

After
(O wait I don't have a camera

Re: Scrappy the beetle
YAY the insurance's company is paying for a new even better camera so I can start to take more pictures again...
But it is unfortunately heading towards the end of my holidays and that means all work will stop on the 17th
sorry guys and will only carry on on the 6th April
so there is going to be one very long break from scrappy which I probably need.
So I want to get the welding done before school so that I can return the welder I'm borrowing.

Re: Scrappy the beetle
Got the new camera now and could not wait till tomorrow to show you guys whats been going on. So here are the pics (they speak for them self)
Okay this is my room at the moment

This is as you walk into the garage

The is the holes patched in the rear apron

This is the antenna hole patched

The dash and rear view mirror mount patched and clean up

The rear quarter panel rust hole got patched

Here is the luggage compartment after been cleaned up ( There was left over paint so I used It)

The door hinge got re-body filled after inspection

The drivers side is now getting the treatment

The door

The exhaust got shorted to fit the motor (By me)

I managed to get given a alternator by a friend who I helped to get his motor running again. (I cleaned it up)

Last but not least The motor with out the fan shroud cause I don't have a good condition one and I need to change it from a geny stand to a alternator stand.

Re: Scrappy the beetle
You might be thinking why are there holes in the paint but the paint was so done so that I could find and get rid of all imperfections in the body work and then give it another layer of primer.
Just to make sure I get it right
