so far I still have some sanding left on the drivers side and I need to make a new bottom plate for the passenger side heater channel and weld it in with 1 or 2 other bits in the heater channel.
You know for a young man of 16years old I take my hat of to you for the amount of work you are doing and with the confidence
When I was 16 I was playing with 50`s in my era not cars all though I had a Ford escort Mexica shape panel van that I tinkered with the shell a bit but had no experience or help to guide me in the right direction
You ever need advice or help I am just a phone call away same as when I helped you with your Spigot shaft

Impressive amount of work young man. Well done. Looks pretty good from here.
The more time spent on prepping the right way, the better the end product.
Good luck with the withdrawal symptoms

Re: Scrappy the beetle
I wheel her out on a trolley today so she could get a wash while its nice and hot then I gave her some more primer on the drivers side so all thats left is to sand the body smooth and get rid of the rest of the imperfections then 1 more layer of primer then I can buff it and start this the bonnet, deck lid and the mud guards.

I got a set of seat rails today from some one who was about to take his whole rusty 1970s beetle body to the scrap yard

Re: Scrappy the beetle
The test fit did not go so well
The body has had the rear brackets have been raised so now the back of the body is lifted off the pan. I'm now packing up for school and needed a place for the mud guards so they got 2 bolts each to hold them on and the back lid got clipped on and the bonnet is just balanced on. I will cut off and re weld the brackets next holidays so there is going to be nothing or very little happening for the next few months
Any way I need a brake. So here are the last pics for a long long time.

Cheers guys it was a blast and I cant wait to get started again next holidays

Re: Scrappy the beetle
It was nice to meat you today My Bug and to show off my toys
I no I said that toughs were my last pics but um I lied
Here is scrappy and Boggo parked in the garage for there holiday (I had to park Scrappy in side ways so they would fit
, What a mission but it was worth it
) I got all the bits I sent to the sand blaster and he could not have done a better job. every thing looked new and nothing got lost or damaged. So here are my last last pics ( I'm suffering from withdraw symptoms
)

Thanks
Richard
