VIN Codes and Paint code information

Post by Yugan »

Hi peeps ...

I tried accessing the VIN code PDF for Type 1-3 under Codes section in Technical but somehow the PDF doc is not available for download. Can anyone send this to me please or direct me to the right spot on the site?

My '58 has a Made in Western Germany plaque with VIN no. imprinted. It also has a SAMAD flimsy plate that has the same VIN no again punched on it together with a Paint Code ' V '. Does anyone know what colour the Paint Code ' V ' represents. My bug is currently painted in a medium dark blue / Golfblau shade of blue. I would like to know if this is the original colour on my bug?

Thanks
Kind regards,

Yugan

I also had the same problem
No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.
