Re: Bardahl ad with Squareback
The name Bardahl also features on the Bus below - if that is what it does for your ride, I'm getting some pronto!

Re: Bardahl ad with Squareback
My dad believed in Bardahl like it was the best thing since sliced bread, though there were no sliced bread those day's. When he drained a ACVW engine and saw the thick Bardahl stuff in the sump plate, he smiled. Oil were not advanced those day's and anything extra helped.
Nice advert. Bring back good memories. Thanx Pine.

I think they used an additive to the oil like PTFE today,to lessen friction and keep it running cooler.

Some additives did work well, like Block leaks a couple of years ago.The had an additive that stopped leaks in the cooling system, and it worked wonders.

Re: Bardahl ad with Squareback
I need a rack as pictured in the ad, also for a Squareback, does anyone know who can make one up?

Clean it with Coke, if it leaks afterwards, chuck an egg in. Job done...

Re: Bardahl ad with Squareback
Pine
I do know from own experience that these products were more for old cars.
The thickned stayed firm even when hot, this helped fill wear cavity's between bearings, piston & bore, and those kind of things, it gave you a silent ride, more compression, beter fual con. improve oil pressure and made the old work horse last longer.
BUT
If you put it into a new engine, it would force all clearances open and damage you ride.
What you save on the slide you loose on the roundabout.
