I can't wait to see the progress on this! Phillip is a master of the bodywork - he did loads of work on the front end of my beetle and it looks amazing!

Hey Phillip, looks good! If you dont mind me asking, how much did you take off each side? Cause your beam, for some reason looks longer than my 6" beam. Maybe its just the shock towers that make it look longer.

As far as ive heard there is no problem with turning, but it all depends on how low you go. Did you cut from the middle or from the outside?
My beam doesnt have shock towers.

ive cut it behind the mounts,,but removed everything today,,since u got a 6 inch without any problems,im willing to go more, ive done some research on the samba and those guys go as much as 8inch and more,so i took out an extra 2 cm each side,so thats 8cm a side(screw the inch thing, just making myself confused),ill weld everything back together next week, and do a test fit, only the bodywork will be a bit more.

The inch thing becomes easier and easier as you start to do more reasearch into narrowed beams. For me the cutting of the beam was the easy part..the hard part will come when you have to shorten torsion leafs and tie rod assemblies.

If you get the time, go have a look at the Kustom Coach Werks site they have allot of usefull info on easy mods that can help allot.

Nice job so far :D , im also running a 6inch beam with dropped spindles and adjusters , i cut off my towers and made custom brackets to run shocks without cutting the body. The ride is er "interesting" specialy with the 2.7 pushing it from behind , as far as a turning circle its not to bad but some parking spaces need a bit of "work".I'l see if i have a pick of my beam somewhere .
My biggest fear is that my wife sells my cars for what i told her they cost !!
