Some of us are on Robben Island and the rest are based on an island in the middle of the Orange river.
Where are you based. This way we can tell you in which direction to head for spares.
Why do we celebrate the guy that invented the wheel??
Surely we must celebrate the guy tat invented the other three

Hi rouxlouis.
Welcome to ACVWSA. Sorry to hear about your mishap.
Nobody knows any detail on VWSA paint codes and mixes. I'd suggest matching the new paint to an unexposed part of the car, such as the glovebox lid.
Also, please introduce yourself in the appropriate thread, as per your welcome mail.

A guy who worked with VW SA in the late '70's reckoned that the SP-red colour was very similar to the red that VW Germany used on the '76 MK1 GTI. This hue of red was called Mars Red.
Knowing how VWSA worked, they probably changed the colour further
I have no idea how accurate this statement is, use it/don't use it

Anyone have any idea how many genuine original 1600SP beetles produced in Uitenhage are still in existance? How many white, red and yellow left?
