i needed a Battery for my bus **was swapping from my car to the bus and vice versa

gets a bitt irritating at times

got 1 of the bin digger **trolly guys** passing my house on saturday morning as he stoped to ask me for some change

i saw a battery in the trolly so i asked him how much wold he get for it at the scrap yard
his answer was R10

so i thaught what the hell here is a R15 give it to me **he was over the Moon

took it in charged it on my car for about 5 minuts & guess what ......been driving with it my car ever since !!!!!!! :hangloose: :hangloose: :hangloose: **Im over The Moon in excitement !!!!
I would think that is a score!! not a bad investment, one day when the battery is stuffed you can go recycle it and get R10 for it...

Hi Volks

I have has a very fruitful month VW accessory hunting... Thought I will update here as I have not done so for a very long time.

I scored the following:

1) I needed a horn push replacement for the EMPI coach steering wheel I got from Pine.. problem is they cost from $80 for a repro to $500 for OEM. Did some research and discovered that the exact same horn push was used on the Datsun Z cars. Got one off Ebay for $9 including shipping !! Just need to replace the Datsun logo with the EMPI one.. easy!

2)Picked up a good condition Hella spotlight mirror on Ebay at a very good price...

3)On the Samba i picked up 5 NOS metal BRM centre caps. These normally go for $80 - $100 each. I paid $60 for all 5 inclusive of shipping from Germany... bargain of the month for me!

4)Off gumtree, a Hazet 4 tier "Assistent" tool trolley with a full set of tools and "2 blue flat boxes of tools" as my mate in PE who is storing them for me so long says... cant wait to see those 2 flat boxes myself...

5) Off gumtree again, a VW Hazet spare wheel tool kit in very good condition, with all the tools intact, and most of them still have the Hazet decal on the metal...

So, the VW tool kit I have looks like its going up for sale... Will post a new advert here soon under Parts...

WOW ! man - some nice "stuff" there Muds.
The Hella mirror/spot light, does it screw onto the door itself ? Can one not clamp it onto the existing mirror stalk?

Cheers

Good scores Muds! :hangloose:

The Hazet round tool box is an ealry one (split Beetle era), with the felt backing and the 36mm spanner instead of the 21/36.

Hi Jolas. its been a while mate...

Th spotlight mirror has a slot typa-thingie... as if the male section was screwed onto the door and the the light was slid in... Either way, Im losing it as Im thinking of adapting a splitty mirror arm for this light to fit onto my door hinge mount on my beetles door...

Hi Fig.... Thanks appreciate the info.

A very good friend of mine (currently best friend :-) ) decided to donate his collection of all three series of Shell Ferrari's to me!
He doesn't have the space, and he knows I am planning some display cabinets to display the addiction, so sent them my way :-)
What a score :hangloose:
