Hello all

Firstly, I want to say a hello again to everyone that I left behind for nearly a year.
I took time away after being let down by many personal things, but as life and God would have it, my passions started peering up from the bottom of the box I shoved them in and started to infect me again.

So, as a person who nows sees himself as a man and not a 'guy' or 'boy' or anything, I have found what i am looking for.
Many thanks go to Splitz for bringing it to my attention which led to me getting...

a 1957 Oval Window beetle!!!!! :hangloose:

It is a half completed project, and most of the work is done, but I am looking forward to getting it home so I can stare at it till I stop crying and get down to working out the checklist and grand plan of finishing what was started and with putting it all back together!

here are the photos from the guy I bought it from.
When it arrives, I will be able to see just what kind of sh*t I got myself into ;)

Thanks everyone. Still feel very nervous, like I don't know what to do with myself!

I will have to still transport the thing, looking at doing it on a ship instead of overland, may be way cheaper.
Problem is, they can collect on thursday next week, but I am going to Knysna early Saturday morning for a week. So, the dude might have to keep it for an extra week!

I know it is premature, but SHE already has a name! It is the first 'she' i have had (all previous cars were boys) and judging by the papers, She is name after the original owner: "Betty". Kid you not!
