The scene in Cape Town...

Post by Blitzkrieg »

...is not only restricted to ACVWs going for ACVW exclusive shows...seems like the Cape guys are much more open minded and are attending car shows which generally cater for Waterpumpers, where they are not afraid to show off their rides :hangloose:

Check out some of the Aircooleds on this blog : http://www.capestance.com/

I don't know if it's me, but I see that up here in Gauteng, Aircooled guys generally don't like to attend Watercooled VW or general "Show and Shine" type of shows/park offs in their Aircooled Vws.

Hope that we can take a leaf out of the Cape peoples book and start socialising with the other VW enthusiasts who also show some love and passion for the VW brand, even if it might be biased towards the Waterpumper side of things...

I like attending all-make classic car shows like Pretoria Cars in the Park, Piston Ring, Vaal Ou Wiele and Angela's Picnic.

But I couldn't care less about the VW "brand". I'm into ACVWs and I have no time at all for WCVWs. I can't think of much I'd rather NOT do than hang out with a bunch of lowered, big sound, bling wheeled Golfs and CitiGolfs.

I've nothing against Golf drivers, I just dislike ALL plastic and FWD cars. The only thing ACVWs have in common with WCVWs is the "brand", which has a completely different persona and soul to what it was in the air-cooled era.

I'll be at the Logo Day, despite the fact that it's open to watercoolers. I'd be much happier if it were air-cooled only though ...

This is not a judgement, just a matter of taste.

Just to put things right here.

All those pics are supplied by one person who is associated with Capestance. There are not really any get togethers of air coolers and waterpumpers.

The pics are just some of his work at different get together's.

He was at the "so fresh, so clean" meet as well.
Why do we celebrate the guy that invented the wheel??
Surely we must celebrate the guy tat invented the other three
