What rivets did you use to fix the clips (on the bus or Ghia Dave) ?hitlers revenge wrote:Fixed 2 hubcap clips so as to replace my Hubcaps.

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

@Jolas
4.8 x 12mm peeled rivets. Riveting from inside the rim. IOW, the peeled end is wrapped around the clip behind the hubcap. It doesn't look at all kosher but at least the hupcap can now stay in position.

Thanks Dave. I used some "new" clips recently, Oom Hennie helped me rivet them on, but one has already broken, they just don't seem to be as durable as the originals, it's not like I take my hubcaps on and off every day ........ ?hitlers revenge wrote:@Jolas, if you want rivets , I have 23 of them left.You are welcome to some.
Are you working on the panel van ?

Re: What did you do on your car today?
Yesterday I sorted out both of my Syncro`s diff lock vacuum pumps coz they were not functional as we are going with a few Syncro`s to Hennops 4 x 4 track on Sunday
and I really want to take my Syncro Off road again with the propper "Tools"
Changed Tyres and fitted the spare set of 14" Rims with better Off road tyres and just basically prepped the bus for the run

How is the ride and do you have any suspension travel?Splitz wrote:Dropped the fasty with two outer splines in the front, The car is now level, not nose up anymore and looking pretty sweet
Mine is sitting 2 down in front, still has quite a bit of suspension movement and only hits the bumpstops if you hit a really bad dip or bump in the road, other than that it sails fine with a firm ride....

If it's too low, you're too old

The ride quality is 100% better its a lot stiffer in the front and not bouncy like it was.Blitzkrieg wrote: How is the ride and do you have any suspension travel?

Travel seems good, took it for a bit of a drive today and did not hit the bumpstops.
And its really easy to do

I have found those parts that you are looking for, the armrest is pretty decent with just a little bit of attention required and the ashtray is a perfect, just needs some paint
