I definitely think that Betty had her nose replaced, probably from either a prang or amount of rust. I see no evidence of bending or folding anywhere, so i think it was mainly rust repair or a light ding like you said.
Will send you the chassis numbers and will take pics of the seat runners for you.

I will, on the weekend, test the bonnet by swopping them around and seeing how the differ with fit.

They should interchange ok but check around where the new apron was fitted for a nice fit.

My brake fluid tank has 1 hole and needs refurbishment. If you are willing to part with your spare (you said it is new) I am interseted fo sho!

I checked on one of my books, it said that the recess on the courtesy light door switch was found on some ovals.

i checked up, mine is from may 1956, the donor is like september/august or something. cant really remember fir shir

Donor - May 57 The donor was close to the end of the oval era the last being 31 July 57 chassis no - 1 600 440

Some more differences may be the position of the front- footwell- heater outlets. Halfway through 57 it was moved more backwards. The door lock striker plates might be different as well.
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).

yup. those are different too. Got the parts from each car in seperate boxes. And are easily identified by the amount of crustiness on the donor parts compared to Betty's
