Re: Scrappy the beetle
SSSSHHHHHHHHEEEEE RRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
today I made it my mission to get her running, so I could get some thing to motivate me to do the body work. After much struggling I found the old carb to be faulty so I changed it with my other bugs. I then really battled to get every thing together for some or other reason nothing was going my way. I eventual got her going about 20min ago and drove her out the garage. It was a noisy experience because I have not put an exhaust on her but she drove up the hill and reversed up the hill with out it. I still have to finish installing the alternator so I have not yet got a belt on, so I did not run her for long. There is one very minor oil leak on one of the push rod tubs due to them been so old and slightly damaged. Other wise I'm nearly done with the body work on my front right mud guard and the front bonnet.
Cheers
Richard

Re: Scrappy the beetle
MAN that ride is squating big time in the rear
, gonna need a few bags of cement up front to level it out.

Re: Scrappy the beetle
Glass, seats etc is gioing to take the rear down further, wait until fully assembled before trying to set the rear up again.

Re: Scrappy the beetle
Okay. The glass is in (besides doors)
then the exhaust is on,
bonnet is on and painted.
Front head light are crazy bright.
Problems so far:
Engine wont Idle and you have to pump the accelerator to keep it going (Not to sure how to fix that)
Bonnet is not a great fit.
My rear suspension is way to low.
If I wanted scrappy to go to the PE logo day I would have to be pretty much finished my Sunday
. It might be possible, but to do It I would have to rush things which Is the last thing I want to do on a car which Iv taken a full year to do up. So with this In mind I'm not going to bring scrappy to the logo day. I have one of my most important exams coming up this term and I cant afford to get bad marks. I'm going to rather get my other beetle (Bogo) going nicely over the next week and continue working on scrappy during my next holidays. By that time I would have sorted out the papers for her and all the parts I need will be here. Sorry guys, I also wish I could bring her to the logo day but that is just life.
Cheers
Richard
