Some of the cars has as little as 15 000km on them and over 40+ years old while some have very interesting history and have been completely rebuild.

Mercedes Collection (pic heavy)
As Pine posted some other car collections here the other day, thought I would share this fellow’s Mercedes collection that I visited a while back.

Was saying the same thing to the Missus, just the other day...
A Merc always had "Class" an air of breeding, a mystic of achievement, but not any more, its just an overrated, expensive wane-be.
Stick to my 4 rings......

Beautiful collection! And no E class there that I could see.
Those old Mercs, reliable, comfortable, and lasts just about forever.

Re: Mercedes Collection (pic heavy)
There's at least 4 E-Class cars there... the silver one might be a 500E

Re: Mercedes Collection (pic heavy)
I am privileged to have grown up with both of these cars.
I don't know how many Grossers they brought into SA in this colour but my Dad owned one in this colour. Possibly even this very one. I would love to know if it is the same car.
The car below looks like a 300 SEL 6.3 V8. A beast of a car in it's time. This machine would blow away cars considered to be fast by today's standards. It's a fantastic car.
Boy, these photo's have brought back some great memories. Thanks Sean.

Those 600's are fantastic cars - unbelievably powerful, and it simply glides over the road. Consumption? Don't ask!
My father had this 1969 which he restored over a couple of years before selling it, it is now in the collection of Dr Scribante in George and is on display every year at the George Show

With that same 6.3L V8 coupled with that body weight you know it had to be a bastard on fuel.Pine wrote:Those 600's are fantastic cars - unbelievably powerful, and it simply glides over the road. Consumption? Don't ask!
My Dad's business partner had one just like your Dad's black one Pine. And a left hooker to boot. My sister was driven to her wedding in that car. Must see if I can find a photo and post it here.

Re: Mercedes Collection (pic heavy)
As far as I know that 600 originally belonged to the CEO of Dunswart Steel, who imported it from Cologne in Germany where it was delivered new to its first owner. It was my sister's wedding car in '99 as well!
