Hi Jolas, I've never been shy of taking on a challenge :!: No, it's not a runner, the engine is ok but that's about it. I will get some more pics on the Project thread.

Great site and been reading info here for a while.
Posted some pics of a beetle run done more than 15 years ago if you would liek to see.

http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/gallery/ ... lbum_id=99

Some of you might be in these pictures.

Started off with a 76 Beetle S.
http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/gallery/ ... bum_id=100
Took 12 months to build after doing some serious searching for this type of bug with rounded window and 2 months aftyer completing teh project a rolled it about 10 times.
Sad but upgraded to a nice red bug completely rebuilt from someone else.

Many years later; about 3 years ago i bought a completely damaged 62 KG. Nice colour but dead adn bad. Sold this and now own a 66 KG.

Not too bad and ready for the new project.
Will keep you posted on my advantures of building a nice 66KG

Hello, my name is Braham Laubscher, i was today at the motor show in Parow where i found out about this forum from the lady of Grand slam. I live in Stellenbosch and study mechanical engineering at Cape Peninsula University of Technology(new Cape Tech) and i drive a flippen awesome two tone 1600 beetle from 1971. I love her. She is a work in progress and needs a few things to get her back to where she was but i will slowly but surely get there. So if anyone has a beetle their stripping or has some parts for sale, let me know i will definitely be interested. So ja if anyone has any questions for me just let me know. Chrz....;)
