Just a Idea.......
Look for a spare body and pan, that is a bit better then the one you got.
Run your car with a few pop-rivits and "For Sale " signs, then you fix the spare body right up to paint, then on one week, build every thing from this one into the fixed up body and pan....pressto!... one new beetle......

Ja Im starting to think the same, It would be easier , I would really like to find the same bodyas I like the look of the curved windscreen. That will be my next mission.
