Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

I meant to ask that too. Is that the same oval you have now?

Re: Kruger National Park, Lions, Splitty Beetle
Still have it. Took me a few years to rebuild. For the past 20 years it's a daily driver.
Got this in the post:
Saw the cop pointing his speed-camera at me. After passing him at 55, geared down and floored. He swung around his camera, taking this picture from behind. Allegedly i was doing 76. Maybe he was awoken by the sound from the 4 into 1 exhaust...
Got another one for doing 131 on the highway in a 120 zone.
The other day my kombis were parked in. So i removed the beetle's passenger seat to fetch some braai-wood. Loaded some inside the bonnet as well. Once had two bar-fridges inside the beetle. (130 litre size). Amazing what can fit inside a beetle.

Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).

I have the original post card above, and by pure chance I stumbled across this pic on the 'Net tonight (from an old SAR calendar), also taken in the Kruger National Park in the 50's - do you think it is the same Beetle?Pine wrote:Cool vintage Kruger National Park post card
Only difference I can see is the way the wipers are facing?
