Re: 2L VW KOMBI AIRCOOLED ENGINE TO SWOP FOR 1.6L VW BEETLE
The 2.0L will not fit, without big modifications in a beetle.
The flywheel will not work, all the tin ware is incorrect, alternator and fan shroud is all completely different.
It is possible but then as said you will have to consider something in the line of IMPI’s upright conversion shroud, new carburettors etc etc.
It’s a lot of money and time to do this conversion.

Cut your beetle intop a Baja, then this will bolt straight on .just need to change flywheel and get an electric fuelpumpJonnoDub wrote:Thanks for a decent answer , this helps a lot.sean wrote:The 2.0L will not fit, without big modifications in a beetle.

The 2L fly wheel can be used with a 2L starter and a 10mm spacer between the starter and Transmission and there are 4 spots in the Transmission bell housing to do a bit of clearancing for the Pressure plate to clearbuggyfan wrote:Cut your beetle intop a Baja, then this will bolt straight on .just need to change flywheel and get an electric fuelpumpJonnoDub wrote:Thanks for a decent answer , this helps a lot.sean wrote:The 2.0L will not fit, without big modifications in a beetle.
