Shifting in a bus...
My ambulance shifts like a heap of Sh*t...
It's notchy, not smooth, and feels like sloppy porridge...
I want to send it in for a complete shift makeover next week.
I'm fairly certain it will need a new shift coupler amongst other goodies...
Can these parts be easily found here? ie: are the same as a Beetle?
Cheers, N.

Add a few hundred bucks to a few thousand, plus shipping, plus my excuse for earnings and it becomes a problem.
Now listen up all...my birthday is coming up soon...I want shifter parts

Will do IMPI, thanks.
How do I go about checking mounts?
It's REALLY notchy and totally unsmooth shifting up in the cab. You can hear the notchy sound under the cab, not down the back...

Nick, take the whole trhing apart and clean all the components. then check for excessive wear. If every thing is worn but 'workable" , and you dont want to buy all the new goodies now, then grease the rubber components with rubber grease and the metal components with castrol WB grease and put the whole thing back to-gether, and you will be happy with th improvement. in the whole shift train. a lot of the slack will be at the gearbox selector shaft coupling, and the bolt that holds it on to the shaft. If you do it yourself, this will not cost you a lot of loot!
Enjoy!
Bill
p.s. you dont even have to jack the van up to do this job!

*lmao!*
It's actually quite shocking how bad a certain bus was kept...nasty rust, shocking respray, brakes, gears, wierd engine work, etc.
...and let's even mention the 'dirt' shall we?
Oh well, it's under new management now, and the future is bright.
