1964 Ghia by KCW (hoping to have this on the street in a short while):
my 1957 SC (on it's way to Germany and is for sale):

I have some others that I will try to get pics of and post them later. I have a couple older Datsuns (a 72' 510 2dr and a 70' 311 Roadster) that are slowly gothering dust and parts toward finishing them.

I only took it out for a test at low power and ran a 10.40 at 140 mph. The Ghia has done a similar time 10.30 in the high 130's mph. The Beetle should be good to a very low 9 or high 8 second run. I have a short block 2850 Pauter motor I am building (slowly) that will be on methanol and am hoping for 800+ hp so the car can run deep into the 8's.

Cool photos, thanks, that double cab looks great, the single cab in the garage seems to be very straight and solid, cool colour as well, what are the plans for it?

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

just putting it back into a runner for now. My buddy in Germany wants it so I will see if I will send it. I need a race trailer for the Beetle so that is more important right now.

"tubbed".....wel sort of:
There is not inner metal work of any type!
The drag bug has a Mendeola yes and the Ghia has a type 1 box done by Rancho.
Here is the link to the build of the Ghia. It has a 10" narrowed beam and a 6" transmission/engine rise.

You are basically using std length Side shafts just the Spring plates are moved inwards so the Torsion bars are Quite short now ?
What have you got in the Type 1 Box
3.88 R&P Spool or open diff
3.55 1st?
1.93 2nd?
3de?
4th?
