Historic VW Association and cars in the park

Post by eddyr »

Hi Guys do anybody know if this club is still up and running? I know there was a couple of cars at Cars in the park that was ?standing? under that name?
Is there a need for that club? I got a coupe of classic beetle?s that?s 100% original that will fit in nice with the Heritage club and then I got ?hot? beetle?s that would be nice for the VW Sport Club and normal beetle that will fit in at the Jacaranda Club

People Like fig and Merlin that don?t do the club thing, will you park with the Historic VW assosciation at cars in the park. What about people with with type 3?s and ghia?s ????

It?s just a thought. I got a car for each club but it?s nice to have all the die heart originals all together, or is it just me?

Ps I?ve got no Issue with any club or kult in any way or form?

I'm right off of the event scener ight now, and don't see my view changing anytime soon.

I will not park with other VWs at shows, atleast not not now. I park with another marque.

I have huge issues with the VW community at present and choose not to associate with the majority of it.

I'm not fussy about who I park with. I'm not a member of any club (the Kult is not a club!) and I have no issues with any clubs.

Actually I think it's really stupid that every VW club at Cars in the Park wants its own spot, away from any other VW club.

It would be great if the show organisers could put all VW clubs together.

Last year I parked with Historic VW because that's where the most split buses were. It could just as easily have been any of the others, as I have friends in Jacaranda Beetle Club, Jhb Beetle Club and Pta Sport Beetle Club. The Kaapse Kombi Kult is represented in all of them.

And MTM, I hope you've got over yourself by the next show and camp-out on my farm in February, otherwise your buses will have to attend without you!

Well I'm with you there!!! It's the bigshot high in the clubs that don't want to stand next to the other clubs, and we the car owner ?and? the spectator don?t mind being next to a other vw club. Well I do think that some of the clubs cater for different type of VW. But I think it?s awesome to see all the VW together at the shows. Look at the Show earlier this year at the Voortreker monument, there were 3 different VW clubs standing together and we had a ball no issues?

I agree Eddy, that was why I'm trying to get the Pta locals together so that at shows we are a HUGE force.

The main reason I go with VW sport is because I have a lot of friends in that club who I've been mates with for over 10-15 years and they welcome any aircooled ride. I hope that in the future we can park together.

CARS IN THE PARK SHOW

Post by 53 zwitter split »

 HI THERE GUYS.I AGREE WITH THE FACT THAT THERE IS SOME UNFORTUNATE DEVIDE BETWEEN CLUBS WHICH IS PRETTY STUPID AS WE AT THE JOBURG BEETLE CLUB DO NOT HAVE ISSUES WITH ANY CLUBS AND THINK THAT IT WOULD BE SPECTACULAR TO SEE ALL THE BEETLES PARKED TOGETHER AT A PLACE LIKE CARS IN THE PARK.THE MORE THE MERRIER.WE HAVE 2 LARGE STANDS AT THE SHOW AND ANYONE AND ANYBODY IS MORE THAT WELCOME TO PARK WITH US AND HAVE ONE BIG PARTY.WE ALSO HAVE A HUGE SECTION NEXT TO OUR STAND WHERE WE CAN SIT AND VIEW OUR CARS.IF ANY ONE WANTS TO JOIN US EITHER IN A CONVOY OR ON THE DAY AT OUR STAND YOU ARE WELCOME.....THE SAME GOES FOR ALL EVENTS AND RUNS.I FEEL THAT LIFE IS TOO SHORT SO LETS ENJOY VW & BEETLE-LING ON A MUCH LARGER SCALE LIKE THEY DO IN BRAZIL......PINE CAN BACK ME UP ON THE PHOTOS WE HAVE RECEIVED.

I think that this is the fault of the organisers, they should group similar clubs together.
