Just got me bus back from the tuner - now the mapping for the EFI seems much better, it should hopefully improve the fuel economy by a great margin, since it was running WAY too rich before ! :hangloose:

@#$%^&^&^%$#$#@@@@##$455^

So I parked the bus last night and took the Ghia to work this morning. Half way down the N1 and the clutch cable snaps.

Lucky for me my wife drives the same route in her Opil everyday so I catch a lift with her.

She gets out at work and I take the car further.

Coming home as luck would have it the Opil decides to have her period and drop all the water from the radiator.

Just been to collect the Ghia and am now waiting to go and fetch the Opil.

So this weekend was a eekend of strip and repair.

Opil sorted first as this is my wifes car. Then pulled the busses motor to find that the big end of number 3 piston had snapped and smashed the egde of the barrel as well as making a nice hole in the barrel guide in the block. This we cannot repair over night so we moved onto the Ghia.

Replaced the broken clutch cable. The cable was not "broken". It was just like the last 3 that I have had. The cable keeps pulling out of the front hook.

Anybody else have this problem. I t cannot be a supplier problem as I have used different suppliers of the cables. :(

Anyway, now we have more @#$%^^%$$#$%^^^%#%$, as the Ghia is standing in the same place it was on Friday on the N1.

This time the brakes have locked. Obviously the rubber seal at the fromt of the master cylinder has come adrift from the plunger.

Once again I am in the Opil.

PS. Thanks for the concern Thumper. I will collect the car tonight when the traffic has subsided.

Anybody have any advice as to the removal of the Darksides spirits that have been awakened around my parking lot.

It must be a celebratery time of the "Demise of the Dark Side". (Is it a year thats passed already?????)

Did an oil change which so needed to be done :D
Now the bugger is dripping oil!!! I now remembered why I haven't removed that plate for as long as I haven't done so. One or two of the studs are loose, actually 2 will not fastern!!!! I am stuck for ideas as drilling isn't an option!!!!!

If you need a "Quick Fix" then get some 10 minute epoxy from your hard ware, it comes in a double syringe, mix it and dip your stud into it, and turn into engine block, after you cleaned the oil of, and it will set.
Or get an imperial thread stud that's slightly bigger, and force it in with epoxy, ( don't forget to get the nuts for the studs as well) will also work, but as always best is fix it the correct way.

After 5 hours of wrestling, wrangling, cursing and barking my knuckles I managed to get my fuel tank out of the back. A pair of hidden screws beneath the bulkhead kept me busy for a while. Everything else seemed to be stuck, glued, corroded in place or just cantakerous

Does anyone know why the two thin copper pipes are connected to the top of the tank? They go all the way up to the inside of the air intake vents at the back, then go through a thicker section and return back into the depths.
