Well after the stuggle to get that link loose the rest was a dream
Front out

and got the box and shafts out
seems like a bit of a leak in the housing as when I put it face down for some cleaning oil pissed out from behind the release bearing
hope its just a seal that fits in from that side

Well after the Jeyes fluid revolution - there has been some major cleaning happening
Front cab area before - during the soak and then the finished work after some high pressure washing

Before

During

After

From the front

Still some elbow grease needed in some areas but Iam generally happy with the result

Other progress at this stage is front axle stripping
Seems all links and kings are fine only need to replace some of the rubbers
tie rod ends all shot
Drag link seems to be good
Centre pin bushing needs to be done
Brakes - look good will get into the slaves and check the rubbers
THERE MUST BE A PLACE THAT ONE CAN GET REPLACEMENT PARTS
Bearings looking good - rear seal was loose on the left side and there is a bit of damage to the slave link pipes

Well you just gotta love these German dudes
Took out the steering box this morning and found at tag
will post up pic when camera is charged
would assume that the box has never been tampered with
All is fine with the box just a wee bit of play that should set back to spec
52 years and still strong !!
Should send back to the factory
Maybe they have a better one

Wiper spindles
Brake lines rear
Bit of bashing on the bent up headlight chromes

Got that one under wraps
Also found at the junk heap where two wiper arms from a Datsun
Like the look of them and they should polish up nicely
idea here is to fill the hole with a stainless threaded dome nut
This dome nut will have a 6 mm hole in the centre of it to take the wiper spindle
Then a grub srew will tighten up onto the spindle
Might need to do some adjusting on the arm length as when in position without the blades it just touches the side of the frame

This is the hole that will need filling

Thanks Paul for the pics
This means the wiper arm needs to be somehow like this
Does this mean that the blade only cleans a V on the window ??
