Actually I want to build a toy so I will do a lot of robot to robot dices. Do you think a 1600 box will last?

My son is using my car at the moment. So it gets hammered some times. A lot actually. The 1300 box is actually better for robot to robot dices. Up until now the gearbox holds up perfectly. I just got one rule. No wheelspinning. That is the thing that breaks gearboxes. As for difficulties experienced- mostly growing pains.

Got a 1600 golf radiator up front with a 12" fan. Keeps temp at 90 degrees. Revs at 120, just above 3000 rpm. As I am using modified beetle flywheel I am using the standard beetle starter. Think it is the same with a Gilo adaptorplate.

25 mm galvinised pipes welded to the pan. No overheating issues.

Is it possible to fit the vw411 or 412 box and front disc brakes into a beetle

Like I said; anything is possible if you have the knowledge and resources. But why go through all that trouble while disc brake kits are available. 411/412 gearboxes are IRS so I agree with Tony Z. NoTony Z wrote:no
