Re: 1600TP - standard carb or single 36
Firstly, run heat risers, then get a decent linkage, then a air filter that is going to fit the 36 DCD under the fibre glass, then the fun & games strarts. Jetting is ...... anyway, not cheap trial & error good luck

For what it's worth, ignorance has no limits ......

Re: 1600TP - standard carb or single 36
it should make a difference if properly setup. If its the DCD carb kit, then it needs plenty work and can be a bitch to tune properly.

Re: 1600TP - standard carb or single 36
I think pangolie is referring to the single 36 Dellorto or Weber downdraught carb kit that Dave at FFR sells, if that's the case I think it will definitely be a step up from stock plus the kit comes with the correct linkage, air filter and the manifold equipped with heat risers(you really need them on a single carb like calooker says).
Jetting should not be a problem if you get Jess Hugget to sort it out for you, Dave might even have them prejetted close enough for your 1600 engine.
Don't forget you will need a 009 distributor to suit the new carb.

thanx edmond. yes thats the one. dave said he jets them almost correctly for my setup ,and he knows what hes doing. Jesse can just do the final adjustments to make it run smooth. Dave said i will be looking at about 16hp difference in power, and i think thats just what she needs. im geeting the 009 distr as well yes

WOW
33.3% horsepower increase from fitting a single 36mm carb!
Why do we bother with cams, fancy cranks, serious heads and all the other gofaster stuff if thats the kind of power you get from a carb change.
Wonder if you 66.6% increase if you fit two of these carbs?
