So a few cars later and with me always keeping my ears and eyes open for a project Beetle a friend of mine sent me a message late last year and said that she remembered that I said to her if she ever wanted to sell hers that she should let me know. She had it for about 3 years and wanted to buy something else. So 2 days later I paid and it's all mine In GREAT running condition with a few bumps and scratches and badly faded paint. When I took it for a drive I had a massive smile on my face but at the same time i was and still am thinking "what did I get myself into 
" I had a couple of days spare in December so I started stripping it. I'm planning on doing a whole body off (which I was hoping to already have done) and work from the bottom up. I run a small general engineering shop with a couple of cnc mills and lathes so I don't mind getting my hands dirty 
So most of the chassis work I will do myself. Now the spraying is where the problem lies but I am planning on saving up for that. It seems like it is going to be a LONG project as I need to save up cash and do it through stages.So far I want to thank everyone here, I have been lurking for a while and reading up on posts and have gotten some awesome ideas! My plan is to go pretty original just with red and cream paint. Something along the lines of the first pic but not quite.
