I am looking to build my own DIY car lift/ rotiserie. What I need is a long jack that I can build into the mechanism. Does anyone know where I can get one?

I would keep my ear on the ground for a "gearbox" jack in the junkmail/OLX these have the hydro cylinders you need .
My biggest fear is that my wife sells my cars for what i told her they cost !!

#alvetro .. I'm not sure if you looking to but a new or used jack - it obvioudly depends on what your budget is 
What you can do for now is call BMG hydraulics (011) 614 2004 on Monday morning and ask for Nadine, she will be able to help you with prices and send you information on their Enerpac range of bottle jacks (EBJ Series). The sizes range from 80mm right up to 500mm.
