Thumper is organising a car show

Post by Tony Z »

I know it is a little pre-mature, but Thumper is organising a car show to raise funds for his daughters school.
He can add the details and if/when it is going to really be happening.
But for now, lets try to help him where we can by spreading the news.
And lets bookmark the last Saturday in May to have our cars on show.

This is for the Cape Town crowd btw...

Thanks for the intro Tony.

I have been 'appointed to arrange a car show. Never done it before. :? Even so, I am hoping it will be a decent event.

It is the first car display of its kind at the school. The date 25 May 2013 from 8am to 3pm.

Some positive responses from everyone I have approached thus far, however it is early days. The Beach Buggy Club (Wild Buggers) are in, the Land Rover Club, Several Mini's owners have indicated they will be there. There will be a few new car displays as well.

No fee for displaying your car, as an individual or a club.

Still trying to get more sponsors for prizes. Prizes will be 'peoples choice', there will not be a structured show type competition.

Lots to organize still. If you have done this before, your suggestions will be appreciated.

No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.

Thumper... do you have an email address that we can stick online for people to contact you at? I want to throw out an invite to some of my buddies who will hopefully be able to rope in a few more people

Pine, if you dont find a bed, I might be able to put you up. As long as you dont mind sleeping on a couch and dealing with 6 (fairly quiet) dogs. Sorry, I dont have a second room.
Otherwise I have plenty space your you to setup a tent ;-)
