Car licence renewals

Since our wonderful post office is still on strike, we have not received renewals for car licences. Discovered the other day that I had 5 that expire 31 March.

Please check yours and get to the licence department and renew if necessary. Take the previous years licence paper or reg doc, fill in green form (this is in Gauteng - not sure other provinces) and pay. See that small cars are now R300 as opposed to R276 last year.

I had the same issues last month, when I had three cars come up for renewal. I sent someone to pay and they came back without the discs, because my trailer licence expired in October and my Mercedes in November but I didn't get the renewal reminders. The late payment penalties have increased a lot, so I ended up paying double for the late vehicles.

I think it's time I draw up a spreadsheet with all my cars and the licence renewal dates, since the PO is no longer delivering half the renewal notices.

Why not just renew some of your licenses early and then you can renew everything at the same time.
My family has all their cars renewing at the same time, so whoever is going to be near a renewal center at a convenient time, renews all the cars (4 and a trailer).

Unfortunately I have so many cars my cash flow wouldn't handle licensing them all at once. I'm moving as many of them as I can to Special licence as they become due for renewal.
