thats a lot of work for 3 years... looks good. I like the amount of effort you are putting in while keeping her on the road...

At last the trailer is finished, all 20 bolts are on the wings & they are all lined up, lights all work & the No. plate light is on & the door seals are on.
I've waxoil undersealed all the underside & painted inside black. I also noticed the wheels are directional & on the wrong way around, thats now also sorted. I didn't photo the underside as I had underseal all over me & didn't want it on the camera:-

Attention now to Milly, my new mirrors are on, looking good:-

Re: Milly the 1979 Westfalia Berlin Deluxe Bay Window Camper
Decided to repair my broken top Westy bed:-

Got a new sheet of Marine Ply:-

Cut it to size & chiseled a tongue out to match the original:-

fitted the metal end on:-

Chiseled in a metal bracket drilled it with a 5mm thread & screwed through the original bracket, that way it shouldn't break again:-

I managed to get a close match to the original Westy material from http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk The stuff came the next day & I managed to get the front bed section done & 3 of the 4 side pieces:-

Re: Milly the 1979 Westfalia Berlin Deluxe Bay Window Camper
Almost ready for our trip now, Been working hard & long hrs the last mth making sure it all goes to plan, we had a bit of a set back tonight, Sean's beetle has started making a strange noise, the engine runs sweet, it passed it's MOT after failing on loose front trialing arms, had to unsieze the front calipers, change the front pads, change the front shoes & raise the rear suspension so it will get on the ferry. Tonight after taking it on a test run its started making a bad racket, I ain't got time now so I'll tow it to my local garage tomorrow to see if they can sort it quickly.
Milly & the trailer are all packed up, hitched up & ready to go, just got to load up the shopping & we're off:-

Re: Milly the 1979 Westfalia Berlin Deluxe Bay Window Camper
Well did you miss me?
We just got back from a 2700 mile trip in Milly where we visited 5 foreign European Countries:-
England
France
Belgium
Luxembourg
Germany
Nothing serious went wrong only a few minor mishaps
1.) I dented the valance of the trailer before I got off the drive
2.) One of the rear speakers blew
3.) Left the trailer behind briefly at some traffic lights in Paris (luckily no damage)
4.) The wipers packed up about 100 miles from home in the rain in the dark.
I worked out we spent £900 on Petrol the average price was about £140 per Litre so we averaged around 19 Miles per Gallon which isn't bad for a 2.0l towing a trailer.
My pictures & videos are up loading & I have an interesting story to tell so look in later.
