Pushed Milly outside today so I could blast all her rusty bits, the first thing I done was to take all the paint off down to bare metal using a grinder with a wire wheel on & a paint removal disc. After this I blasted everywhere:-
You have to wear a mask & goggles when doing this, a hat is a good idea also:-
Each time I thought I had finished Davey would cast his Beady little eyes over my work, insult me a bit & then find more dodgy areas, I'd then clean these up for more insults & abuse & so it went on. Eventually the van was finished. I blew off as much dust as possible I'll go over it all again when the prep work is finished.
Next we pushed it back it the workshop, luckily I had a good dry day today & the blasting on the van is finished. Milly has finished going backwards now & its time to start the rebuild. First stage is weld up all the holes & flat the body down:-
More progress at Custom Classics today, the welding is now done & ground back, some of the welds have been gone over again since the photos & are looking good, I'll get some pics of that tomorrow:-
Just had a message of Conrad, the bus I bought in Oregon was collected today at 00.22 UK time from Oregon to begin its 900 mile journey to the port. I can't wait, here are a few pics Conrad took:-
