Hi guys, I'm Don and I am a new member.

I'm 26 and Recently bought a 1960 Karmann Ghia in need of restoration as my first project car.
Right now I'm just focussing on just restoring it to its former glory.
Planning to leave the engine standard, with off white paint job and red leather interior.
Would appreciate any advice or information on where I can go shopping for parts.

Thanks for the great forum!

Hi Everybody,

My name is Florian, from France.
I am 25 and passionate about aircooled VWs since many years.

I had my first split bus before having my driver license, and then bought a few other projects i restored by myself... Mainly busses, except a 57 ragtop beetle i used as a daily-driver.

My current project is a 52 Barndoor Samba i found last year in Canada when i was living there. There is a thread on the samba if you want to know more about it : http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=519848

I am also working on a website project which is kind of a social network for VW's enthusiasts but i already talked about this in the chit-chat forum !

Sorry for my english. I will try to improve it as much as i can in the future !

Talk to you soon,
Florian

Hey Reggie, welcome, post a pic or 2 of the crew cab and perhaps someone on the forum might recognize it  Or start a new thread under "my ride" or the projects section.
If the person who sold you the vehicle does'nt know all the history, you might find your task quite difficult ....

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Hi everyone,

My name is Claude, from Johannesburg. I have had this unexplainable passion for Kombis for quite some time now, but only from a distance since I've been saving myself for that elusive splitty, which I still haven't found...but the hunt will go on.
After a recent, fairly lengthy, conversation with a seller that spoke of his other buses as well...the passion was re-ignited and since I was having trouble in deciding... a new idea was born...I should start a collection! I mean there will be a "need" for a Westy, an ambulance, a split bus, a D/C, etc. at some point in time. I'm sure you guys would agree??
I did not purchase that sellers vehicle...but last Sunday I bought a 1969 Single Cab (also advertised on this site)...I drove some 200kms with a smile on my face, knowing that this was just the start...

To the seller mentioned above, that spoke so passionately.....THANK YOU!

Thanks for a great forum,

Claude
