just one thing, don't let Chip Fooce get hold of your POP corn...
and then there was a re-run of an episode of top gear S15E7 I think where they dropped a GP registered beetle from a helicopter (1 mile up) against a race with a porsche.............*sighs*

My biggest fear is that my wife sells my cars for what i told her they cost !!

paint, $2000 a gallon - thats nearly R5000 a liter... wow
IMMSMR They put 5 times the normal amount of "Pearl" into the paint, on that beetle, but I could not see the difference, did anybody else notice a difference in the pearl. think that was what drove the cost up. can anybody down load a exploded view of the paint job.??

The cost of the paint on that car simply "does not compute" specially when the owners brief was that he wants a car that he can drive and drive hard , it just doesnt make sense to use such a special paint on a car thats probably gonna get nick and dent here and there Its not that i dont like it or think the car doesnt "deserve" it but as a "drivers car" it just doesnt make sense to me ??

that said, if the owner doesnt get a lung transplant soon, he is probably going to die soon.... let him enjoy having the best most awesome beetle possible while he has the chance....
Plus lets not forget that the show is not so much a TV documentary but a 1hr advert for Foose.... he is putting money into advertising and getting discovery to pay for it....
as Tony said, if Discovery has an requirement that ex- amount to be spent, then the little they spent on the Bug would insist that the price of the paint would have to go up, where else they going to spend the same amount as they normally blow on a Hemi, with new ruining gear.
Make you think, what you see is not always what you see......

It's a tv series and the whole idea behind it is getting such reaction and talk. Personally I don't own a tv thus would naturaly have missed this, but now after reading this, to youtube I go and increase "viewed" count.
