Hi,
My name is Brendon Muller, located in Bloemfontein.
Have joined the forum for advice
I am actually a land Rover Defender addict but have always wanted to get a Bug and modify it into an off-Roader / Overland vehicle.
Yesterday I just happened to get a nice standard 1972 VW Beetle in the scrap, so have the perfect project car.
It is running a well a motor seems to be in excellent condition, even with temperatures at -1 this morning it started first go.
Cheers Brendon

Welcome Brendon,
We all have an aircooled addiction here, and part of the cure, is to talk about it......
Now me being an honest man, feel that one should admit to ones short falls.
But man, If I was you, ...I would lie about this Land Rover thing

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi Guys. Sadly, I don't own a VW product any more, but I believe a may qualify to chew the cud with members of the botherhood. I was head of VWSA PR Department from 1965 to 1993 (with a short detour in the '70's) when I retired. Most promotional activities involving VW (and Audi) products during those years either originated in, was passed by or involved the PR department. I'm out of it now, living in retirement in Jeffreys Bay, but there's nil wrong with my memory! I happened on the Forfum by sheer lick. I was surfing the web looking for a long-lost friend when a saw the post about the Capital Vee parts with George van Straaten and Meyer Botha's names on it. We arranged that gig - Meyer Botha's participation in the World Championship of Formala Vee in Daytona Beach, FL, USA. I think it was 1968 or 1969.

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi. Hope I've clicked the right button. Came across the website quite by accident, and though I currently do not own an aircooled VW, I was involved with them for a major part of my life - as PR manager of VWSA, (aircooled) VW works rally driver and developer of a few tweeks. I know quite a bit about the history of VWSA and its products - not nearly as much as my old friend John Lemmon, of course, with whom I last had contact more than a decade ago. Thanks for accepting me as part of the ACVW family.
Ronnie Kruger.

Hi Ronnie and welcome
You don't perhaps have any old sales literature or paint colour codes/charts, etc in your garage or attic
?
Your friend John is actually a registered member here, but not active at the moment - looking forward to some cool info from "those days"
