Good day Volks

I have a few Beetle and Bus VW logo blank keys (not spoken for yet) on short order. These keys normally sell for anything from $25 - $75 depending on what you are looking for, without postage cost to S.A.

I will have the following keys available for you by next week Friday 28 June, at R200 each, posted anywhere in South Africa.

Pre-order yours now, and make payment next week when I have them. If you do not find your year model, let me know your key code or year model and I will get them for you on the next order. Your key code is either a 1, 2 or up to four letter code found on the door handle or Ignition.

If you do not have the original emblem key that came with the car bearing the key code, the key code for 68>79 Beetles can be found on the outside door handle, open the door, remove the phillips screw behind the door seal in line with the handle, move the handle forward and out, the code is on the ear with the screw hole, see picture below check both handles for matching codes,

67-70 beetle ghia type 3 11K001 thru 72K110 bus 11L001 thru 72L110
71-79 beetle ghia type 3 11M001 thru 72M110 bus 11R001 thru 72R110

Key code for 1967 and older beetles can be found on the outside door handle, open the door, remove the 2 phillips screws behind the door seal in line with the handle, move the handle forward and out, the code is on the lock button retainer, the not chrome part, example code for 61 should be SV123, check both handles for matching codes, SG, SC 001 thru 240 SU, SV 001 thru 630 SE 1 thru 750

The 1967 and older ignition switch will have the code on the ear touching the body where the mounting screw is. Unscrew the screw from under the dash, go into the trunk and turn the switch up to see the code, it may be rusty or dirty and you may have to clean it. 68-79 bus: the easiest place to find a code is the sliding door lock. 68-73 has the key in the handle. The handle is removed by a screw behind the door panel in line with the handle where it pivots. The code number is stamped on the square shank, example 23L046. You may have to clean some grime to see it.

Once you have them just have your local locksmith copy and cut it from your code or current original or replacement key.

These keys are nice, even if you have a logo key already, or not, or just to add it as a spare logo key.

Muds I have a 60 Beetle that does not have a ignition switch can one buy the ignition switch that will have the same code as the door or will I have to fit a universal switch and get a coded key for the door.

Got the radio yesterday, love the giftwrap! My grandma always used brown paper for all presents, so brought back a bit of memories tearing it open.
