WE ARE LOOKING FOR 205 (OLD BEETLE PCD) TO 112 (LATER BAY PCD) FOR CYNDI'S BRAZILIA.
BECAUSE THE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS REPLACED WITH A LATER BAY'S; THE PCD IS 112. THE BACK IS STILL DRUMS WITH THE ORIGINAL 205 PCD.
THIS MEANS THAT THE CURRENT RIMS DON'T MATCH AND THAT WE HAVE TO CARRY 2 DIFFARENT SPARE WHEELS.
UNNECCESSARY, EXPENSIVE, HEAVY AND SPACE WASTING.
DOES ANYONE HAVE 2 OF THESE AVAILABLE OR WHERE COULD WE GET SOME.
THANKS
MARK(CYNDI'S DAD)

Re: LOOKING FOR 205 - 112 ADAPTOR PLATES
You don't need adapters, you can machine 5x112 PCD pattern threaded holes into the existing drums and the later bay rims will fit. Gill's bus was this way when we bought it. I can't imagine how an adapter would fit?
I went back to 205 PCD so I needed adapters for the front. (I changed the whole front disc brake at the end) This was so that I could run the original rims with the full moon hub caps. I have since changed the drums. I am back home and going to my garage in Melkbos around the middle week of July and I will be happy to look and see if those modified drums are still there. (Actually, they won't fit
, they are for the 36mm castle nut size stub axle, your's are 46mm!
) But I can take a picture...

No you can't the taper of the drum nose as well as recesses on the face will be a no go, you will need adapters.Ron&Gill wrote:You don't need adapters, you can machine 5x112 PCD pattern threaded holes into the existing drums and the later bay rims will fit. :

OK... I'll post pics... What can I say. It was done, it worked...
So I suppose it may depend on the drum, maybe the 46mm castle nut drum doesn't work.

Re: LOOKING FOR 205 - 112 ADAPTOR PLATES
71 baywindow rear drums with 112 pcd will fit on RGBs with a spacer, much easier to machine, lighter and safer than adaptors.
I have a split bus transaxle with this set-up if you want to take measurements, etc.

Re: LOOKING FOR 205 - 112 ADAPTOR PLATES
PHEW!
QUITE A FEW DIFFARING OPINIONS.
WE POWDER COATED BOTH 112 AND 205 RIMS BECAUSE OF THE TWO PCD'S WE HAVE. THE PICS PROBABLY ONLY SHOWED THE ONE SIZE.
IT JUST SEEMS CRAZY TO CARRY TWO SPARES. WE'D STILL HAVE TO GET ANOTHER 112 RIM AND A TYRE AND GET IT POWDER COATED TO MATCH.
IF WE GET ADAPTORS OR MODIFIED DRUMS; IT JUST ALLOWS US SO MANY MORE OPTIONS AND ONLY ONE SPARE!
IF ANYONE CAN HELP, GIVE US A SHOUT.
THANKS
MARK

THANKS SNOEKIE.
I'D PREFER THE PINETOWN GUYS DETAILS. I TRIED HELMUT SPARES FOR SOME STUFF WHEN WE FIRST, FIRST STARTED AND INSTEAD OF BEING HELPFUL THEY WERE QUITE RUDE TO US.
I PREFER TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE THAT ARE HELPFUL.
THANKS
