Ja Calooker... I also scratched my head. I saw this advertised on gumtree and called him and he made a price. I waited for a few days for bank details. None received. Called again and he said he spoke to someone from the JBC in Joburg and then he wanted much more. Then it was auctioned off on ACVWSA, and apparently according to the seller (I sms's him), sold for R2500..??

The final price paid is the private business of the seller and the buyer. Whatever it was and whatever anyone else bid, the numbers are clearly well below global market prices for these.

Agreed! but like Rui says, dont mess people around...

Before it was posted here, the seller and I spoke and he offered it to me for R1500, which was a very cheap price even though the tools were not in great condition at all.
Even makes we wonder if was really sold.... anybody else see the fella on gumtree selling an almost complete Hazet tool kit for R13000.... I did not laugh so lekker in a while.

Agreed re sellers messing people around. If you offer it at a certain price, then don't turn it into an auction when you find out you undervalued.

The R13k one was discussed here: http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopi ... 75#p266236
