AirMapp.com - a mutual aid network for VW's enthusiasts

Post by AirMapp »

Hi everybody,

I am Florian, from France. I registered here today to present you a project that I’ve had in mind for quite a while now and which I’m about to achieve.
So please don't see this thread only as an advertisement for my website as i am also a VW passionate since many years and that's why i thought you might like what i will expose you.

In fact, while on the road, I had to fix a few problems with my VWs and found myself thinking “Woudn’t it be cool to find somebody nearby to lend me a hand!”
It was high time to do something about it.

So, I created AirMapp.com, which is a kind of a social network where each member is localized on a world map (or not if you don’t want to, but for those already asking the question of privacy, you have to know that your address is not made public and that you will be pointed on the map at the downtown location of your city so… no risk !).

The idea is you get connected, when you need it, to the website to locate the nearest member who can help you.
VW specialized dealers will also appear on the map.... So if you need a specific part you'll know right away where the nearest shop is...
Of course, it can also be used to simply meet new Aircooled enthusiasts or to visit VW specialized stores while traveling … You'll also be able to locate events such as big meetings or local gatherings.

The website is optimized for desktop computers, tablets and mobile devices. It uses geolocalisation (if you agree) to locate you and identify point of interests that will be helpful.
Soon, it will also offer an open blog, as well as section with technical articles, videos...etc

At the moment, we are still working on the definitive version of the AirMapp Website to make it as nice as possible.
But because we need you to make it alive, we have opened a "pre-registration" website to allow you to register and win some nice AirMapp T-shirts !
(every 100th, 200th, 300th .... etc. to 5000th registered member will receive a free AirMapp Tshirt that you will receive for the official website opening !... winners will be announced on the facebook page).

As soon as we have enough members, AirMapp will officially open !

Don’t hesitate to join us on : http://www.airmapp.com
And follow us on social networks such as Facebook to spread the word about AirMapp ! Image

Thank you in advance!
We look forward to having you as our member!

Bye,
Florian

Work is in progress and the Mapp application is almost done...

Here is a preview where you can see a few registered members (blue markers), 2 shops/garages (orange icons) and even someone who sent an "emergency beacon" (red icon) cause he has problem on the road... (this function send automatically an alert to all the members in the 30km around !)

Cheers,
Florian
