Interesting pics Hubert. There were also pics posted on thesamba.com a few years back of a Tempo Matador motorhome that also looked very similar.
Since it's a Uitenhage bus, it's unlikely it was built by Westfalia, but the design may have been copied from somehting oike those DKW westies.

I collected this camper on Friday and it is now safely under cover. 
The day started badly. After I collected the trailer I picked up my 63 army bus, which had sat at a bodyshop for years with not much progress being made. A block away from home I turned left off a one-way street into a narrow side road, and was hit on the left side by some impatient fool who overtook me on the left in a loading zone, and right after signs and road markings warning of the road narrowing ahead.
Luckily the damage wasn't too bad and we could drive on, but no doubt the repair won't be cheap. After picking up mrsfig at home we headed to Vdubtech to drop the army bus with Bugger, then headed on to Pretoria, now way behind schedule. First stop was Rietfontein to pick up some parts of the camper from the seller at his workplace. Then he sent us on to his parents' house to get the parts.
After that we stopped for a quick bite as we were both grumpy hungry, then we set off to pick up the camper on the other side of town in Pretoria West. Not knowing Pretoria very well we set out across town, big mistake. An hour and a half later we finally got to the plot adjoining a squatter camp where the camper had been standing outside for the past couple of years.
The guy who'd been storing it had fortunately moved it out of the yeard it had been in, and we loaded it quite quickly using his hand winch after changing a few flat tyres. I was in such a hurry to get the job done and back on the road that I forgot to take pics. I had wanted a shot of the camper with the squatter camp in the background, to show where it had parked for the past couple of years.
The camper is now parked safely away from scrap metal collectors and the like and out of the weather, where it will stay until I decide what I'm going to do with it.
On closer inspection of the camper there is an old Jurgens decal visible under coats of paint on the back panel, so that does seem to confirm this was indeed built by Jurgens. Whether it was a prototype or a custom order remains to be seen. What remains of the interior looks very 50s or early 60s, so unlikely it was converted later.
