I must admit, it's quite a different driving experience. The Ghia is very low and rides softer than the oval Beetle.lowlight wrote:What is it like driving the lefty?
It's the first time that I drove a lefty, and surprisingly not difficult, just some getting used to.

well it starts with getting in on the passsenger side... winding the window down instead of changing gear... looking out the window to check the rear view... coming to a traffic circle and starts to feel all wrong, cars coming from the wrong side, the urge to merge from the wrong side... driving on deserted roads and only realising you have wandered over to the wrong side when another car appears...
Come on, we've all been there... I hope.

In every concievable aspect, I would't trade my Lefty for a Righty.
ESPECIALLY in a Beetle.
ESPECIALLY in a Beetle.

Well, brakes are rebuilt
After talking to Werner Alker about my 1200 engine mounted to a 1600 sfas gearbox with short axles he sugested to change the fork with a modification like this:

I am hoping that this is the answer to the slipping clutch. Well tomorrow night the engine is coming out AGAIN and then we will know...........
