Annoying vibration

Post by Nicholas »

Hi guys happy new year to all, I finally found what u have been looking for, I now own a 74 beetle of which is in fair condition, I thing bothers me though when my car idles and I rev it lets say pass 4 thousand rmp I get a funny vibration running through the body this happens also if I strain gears, iv been told that the mountings on the gear box can fo that? Is this true? What else can I check to resolve this problem?

Please be so kind and share a solution.

The maximum rpm for a well tuned stock type 1 engine is 5500rpm,......a stock beetle without someone well versed in ACVW mechanics behind the throttle should not be reved higher than 4000rpm. 3800rpm is the maximum rpm commonly used by VW for the shift lines on many ACVW models. Stick to the shift lines before you f#Ck up your engine.

Or else, counter weighted crack, balanced con rods and pistons and a good 4 into 1 exhaust and you can rev it higher.......
