Hi Johan,
Here are the photo's of my Fugly Gear Lever Bush Holder Pin.
Not sure what you have, but this can not be to difficult to copy, if the old PO changed it.
Let me know if you need sizes.
Herman

Re: RetroVans's "Fugly Braziliamba" Project
So long time no post....
Cleaned up the work shop a Bit, and found some steel rod and stuff.
So I layed my hand on it, and turned it into something.
As I started, I was thinking not to have a STD bus rack, but rather one that looks more like the original beetle rack.
So some cutting followed, as well as some welding, not to mention the grinding, and just a bit of powder coating to top it off.
And here it is........
Will be testing it to George.
See you all there....

Re: RetroVans's "Fugly Braziliamba" Project
So old Fugly did her yearly George pilgrimage.
Ran like a charm, and only had two incident.
The 1st, was the hinge of the petrol peddle broke off, and the 2nd, was the twin Carb cross bream bracket broke of its welding.
The 1st break was welded by AT, the trike man from George, thanks you where very helpful and did a great job.
The 2nd, one happened on the road just out side of Plett.
Had to fix it with wire, which I always carry with me, Did a hell of a job, as it held all the way to PE, with the twin carbs well balanced to give a full power trip.
Till the next trip..

Re: RetroVans's "Fugly Braziliamba" Project
Finally Had some time to cut out the spider nest of "fixit" wire that held the carb linkages together.
Removed the brackets and welded them up like new, must say, that it was my own fault that they broke,
When I did the change over, and reworked the original linkages for the Weber 34 ICT's, I did tack them together, fitted them and tested it to see if they where right.
Well, as you have already quest, I know this from your sniggering, I did forget to fully weld them..........
Oh well, now its done, and she still rides beautifully.
Not much else has been done due to TOO much happening in my life at this time, but, soon, I wish to get back to the important things in life,
that is the Aircooled members of the family.......

Re: RetroVans's "Fugly Braziliamba" Project
So this post is for those of you sitting with pop corn, waiting for the strip-down of the Fugly.......
Well.... as I am so into the restore of the 1952 Split Beetle, and work, the old Fugly has been pardoned, and set back into service to do the odd job here and there.
Between taking the dog between PE and J-Bay, and pulling the number of trailers, here and there, she is once again paying her dues for the family.
May even have her do one more George trip next year, as i would want to take the Split Beetle to George next year.
So that is whats been happening in the life of the Fugly, and I would most probably only start the Fleetline project next year, so no need for the Fugly to go just yet.
Till the next news, Oh, and sorry for the long wait, but that is the thing about projects, you start, you stop, you change, and during this process, time just keeps going on......
Thanks for looking.
