Sorry Guys- I feel bad about it.

Post by retrovan »

Sorry Guys- I feel :bn:

Was going to go to KKK

Was going to bring stuff for some of you

Was going to bring stuff back........

But..

As all the other cars pulled out, I was still going to do the trip with my Girl, but she too had to withdraw.

Now call me chicken, but see no sense in driving 3000km by my self in my Fugly, just to spend it on the side of the road, with a possible breakdown, and no plan "B"

So please do not sweat, I will, at my own cost, courier all the stuff up to Bugger next week, when all are back, and I will collect the stuff coming down from him at the same time.

One good thing, is that the Rock & Roll brackets should be ready by then, and could all be sent at the same time...... :D :D

Bugger please collect any thing at the KKK for me and take it to your shop, will contact you for date of delivery and collection.

If you do not mind, Please.

Once again, sorry for the inconvenience Guys, but hopefully you would under stand.

I think that's a real stand up comment Herman.
There's total sense in your speech, and no one should feel bad about your dilemma, you've offered an excellent backup plan, so all good.. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Good stuff.

Chicken!!!

1st problem, no faith in VW, 2nd to try make a plan. Never have backup plans.

On a serious note, it is a pity you going to miss it. In terms of Kombi events, it doesn't get any better.
I've done it 3 times on my own, never in convoy and it was the most amazing experience. All 3 times were straight through, 1 200 km at one shot.

HARD LUCK HERMAN. THAT'S A REAL BUMMER!

I THOUGHT WE WERE THE ONLY ONES HAVING TO MISS OUT.
CYNDI'S KOMBI IS READY FOR COLLECTION BUT DUE TO UNFORSEEN EXPENSES FOR THE REPAIR ETC... WE CANNOT AFFORD TO MAKE THE TRIP AS HOPED.
AM WAITING TO ORGANISE TO TRANSPORT HER BUS BACK TO DURBAN FROM ANLENO IN VILLIERSDORP. PRICES HECTIC BUT CHEAPER THAN TRAVELLING THERE AND DRIVING IT BACK.

MAYBE NEXT YEAR?

I can totally sympathise . I have the same issue, my '61 is in no condition to drive that sort of distance again and, although I tried, I didn't manage to have the Westy ready in time. :crying:

PS I could have gone in the Landy but I was rapped over the knuckles by one of the forum moderators (Not naming anyone but he sometimes lives in CT) for going to George in it 2 years ago.

No worries Herman! :hangloose:

We all know that our plans may be scuppered by our old cars taking longer than planned to fix or breaking down somewhere. It goes with the territory.

And there will be a KKKult 9th annual kamp-out on the third weekend of February 2015, inshallah.

Thanks for understanding, Fig.

Am already working on Plan "B" for next year.

1st, Make sure Fugly is in tip top condition, mechanically spoken......

2nd, Get Beetle ready, and fully running.

Fit tow bar to Beetle, and tow behind the Fugly.

Should Fugly brake, I can tow it to the next stop with the beetle.

Or burn the Fugly, and drive on with the beetle...... .....

So we should be covered , either way.......
