I haven't thought about it. never done it before. any idea's.

all I can think of is to get it cut out in vinyl, apply it, spray over it and remove vinyl and spray clear lacquer over.

That looks sort of embossed, I'd say the best way to make something like that is to do it in resin, but you'd have to make a copy you can pull a mould off of & then cast the proper resin end product..
It will be a bit of work and will need a bit of artistic skill.. BUT, in the end if it works you can always make more & sell them..

this is a Silicone Mold Job. Similarly to my replacement rear lenses for the Speedster. What you have to do is make a "master" out of Putty, or some other material that will eventually dry and set firm from air exposure, eg: Windowy Putty. You need to shape it and get it to look how you want it to look, including the logo on the top. You could scrape the putty once hard to create your own logo. Also, you need to have a threaded hole in the bottom for the gear stick.

Once you're happy, then you buy a quick set Silicone, make a box, mount the knob in the box and cover with Silicone using normal molding practices.. (Discussion is long and involved.)
Once the Silicone Mold is done, you can then mix 2 part coloured Resin and make as many Gear Knobs as you want out of the silicone Mold.

Initial expense and labour will be intensive, cost appro a grand. Once made, you can make them for a few cents, and possibly sell them off at a few ronds to recoup costs.

Get a peice of steel, get a vinyl cut out, and sand blast the image onto the steel, then a quick polish and mount it onto your gear knob
