How to send email address details to a user?

Guys,
is this a forum related setting in general, or are we not allowed to share our email address with other members in PM's?
From day one, when I tried to purchase some Carbs, and now trying to PM Blitzkrieg my email, it doesn't seem to go through, or the address is deleted? Am I missing something here??

It's seriously becoming almost unusable these days.

from what I remember, it is a forum setting to avoid spambots picking up our details (or any email address posted on the forum) and using them
Eben would be able to clarify
write out the email address in the PM but substitute the @ symbol for something else and tell him to change it back.
Like acpat&yahoo.co.my then change the & to @

OR you can click on the envelope next to the pm button and email him directly via the forum. He will receive the email from the forum, but if he replies to it, the reply will go to your email address

email addresses entered on the site are displayed as images and not characters. That prevents them from being harvested by spambots.
For example is not readable from the website code, it needs to be seen to be read as it is made up of images....

Or if you don't care about spam type it in between square brackets <>

eg <bill.gates@microsoft.com>

I find that confuses PHP and works for me

BTW I use Fedora Linux and Mozilla Firefox, I can't vouch for how Microsoft products will react.
