Spot anything different? - Fleetline engine...

Post by GavinHuart »

Hello all!

This is a picture of my rather magnificent Bill-Noble-built Fleetline engine, which a lot of you may have already seen.

There's been a bit of tinkering of late  . Random as it sounds, 10 points to the one who can spot what's "different" about how it appears now (Nic and Pierre, be quiet  )

Kegan, thank you but no cigar I'm afraid. Offer up an image of another 1600TP engine of similar glory...

Alternator is the internally regulated style (ie, not the 75-only 3-prong externally regulated alt)???

Inlet manifold has the vacuum port for a brake booster (ie, from a baywindow bus)???

Hmmm. Bugger. I should have known you'd know more about these engines than I. You are correct on both points but they are not what I'm hinting towards I'm afraid. You happy with five points? '

- It is something else and something not terribly technical

Where is that pipe going from the oil filler cap?? Is that connected to your brake booster????

If so, that's whats different.

That's the crankcase breather, connects to the inlet pipe of the air filter.
