Baja bugs are so 80s, LOL!

They are not as fashionable as they once were, but I've seen a few really nicely done bajas at shows over the past year or two, so there are some volks keeping the genre alive.

Yes I have baja and love her to bits, it gets daily driven racking up 65km a day , its been on loan to my mom(don't laugh) for the past 10 years

I miss driving her but that's going to change soon, and she is really in a sorry state(rust , vrot floor, crunchy 2nd gear, oil leaks on the engine(165000km on the sub assembly), slighty bent front suspension) but she still carries on going

It is going to go under the knife soon, rust going to get sorted, floors replaced, front suspension sorted(I have another straight beam rdy to go), gearbox replaced, motor rebuilt with a bit more poke(cut cam, reworked heads, balanced, weber carb decent 4in1 exhaust), interior redone with modern seats and retractable seatbelts and decent sound

Once its undergone its transformation, I plan on hitting all the bug shows, cruises and events with the family.

HR i know Edmund has one i bought the engine that was built for his car

Edmund that sounds like alot of work but it will be worth it in the end

i like the idea of working on the engine all open like a beach buggy and to take the engine out takes
all of 5mins if u'r in a hurry
i don't like the idea of not being able to drive it when it rains or when it is cold that is the biggest
reason why i got the car in the first place
then U fall in love with that funny face ! cool or not cool i won't swap her for any other beetle i just
love my old tjorrie

i also am not finished with my car there is still alot of things that need to be done and i do them as money allows
but i can drive a work in progress and that is cool in my book
